Career history at Hilti
I joined Hilti after my master’s degree in corporate entrepreneurship and business design at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship. For me, it was important to work for an international company with a great culture to grow within. This mean that I can feed my entrepreneurial spirit, working as if I run my own business, but in the safety and buzz of a big international company.
During my first two years as a project leader, I got to know different departments within the headquarter in Liechtenstein. It was hands-on, as I got to see how the tools were working, how they performed in tests and what we could improve. I worked closely with the development engineers, while also having an overview of the project, including budget, timing and strategy. It was inspiring to see both sides of the coin.
After the Trainee Program, I wanted to better understand the market and therefore I did one year of sales in Switzerland. This was a perfect opportunity to get to know our customers and the business model of Hilti. During this year I also became fluent in German which has been a personal goal since I started Hilti.
Today, I work as a Team Leader for Tool Service Centre in Switzerland. I’m part of managing and improving the Repair Centre operations in order to provide a high quality, fast and efficient service. For me this is the perfect combination of leadership, technology and customer interaction.
Career history at Hilti
My job is really varied - I never know what type of call is going to come in next. It could be from a customer or perhaps one of our sales guys out on the road. You have to be ready for anything. It keeps you on your toes!
When I started at Hilti, I did my customer service training at head office and then got my hands on the tools at the training center. This teaches you the practical side of things, like the applications our customers are using day to day.
A lot of our training happens on the job, so it hasn’t stopped since I left the training center. I’m constantly learning about the latest products and processes. Another thing that keeps you on your toes!
These Hilti employees share your department and career level but have a different key characteristic.
